This full-room wallpaper installation includes about 550 images found online that show imitations of Kruger’s iconic style—bold text on a red backdrop. The installation is punctuated by a video work that takes Kruger’s iconic I Shop Therefore I Am, originally made in 1987 as a vinyl piece, and reimagines it.
Sound Description
The sound of falling pieces plays as the puzzle collapses at the start of the video. As the pieces connect together they make a clicking sound. The clicks speed up as the image comes into form. The cha-ching from a cash register rings with each changing phrase.
