In conjunction with Imagining Black Diasporas: 21st-Century Art and Poetics, this interactive evening will guide participants through the process of rediscovering healing and joy. We'll explore the mental peaks and valleys of the past and how those influences continue to shape our future. Together, we will honor the hopes and dreams of those who came before us while fostering a community that inspires resilience and growth. Come ready to explore new perspectives, share experiences, and cultivate a brighter future filled with possibilities.
This program is led by Ashley Witherspoon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Hand Made Dreams, a platform dedicated to bringing mental health awareness to everyday spaces. Her latest initiative is the Art Wellness Exchange, where she has partnered with multiple museums to curate mental wellness experiences aimed to reduce stigma, generate conversation, and strengthen community connections.
