Learn how to center the land when teaching painting and instill a deep appreciation for the planet in your visual arts classroom. At this program, artist, educator, and consultant Flavia Zuñiga-West (she/her), founder of Adding Voices, will provide educators with innovative strategies to infuse environmental consciousness into arts education.
Through a blend of theory and practical applications, participants will explore how to integrate ecological themes, sustainable practices, and an appreciation for nature into their curriculum, and will equip teachers with tools to inspire students to become stewards of the environment while fostering their artistic expression. Join us as we embark on a journey to reconnect with the land and harness the transformative power of art to cultivate a deeper understanding of ecological principles and environmental responsibility. Change how your students value color and understand how plants, animals, and the land are interconnected through various countries to tell the full story of art.
