A deep passion for music played a key role in Constantin Brancusi’s life; his Paris studio, brimming with his sculptures, often erupted into lively parties fueled by flowing wine and folk melodies from his native Oltenia in southwestern Romania. One frequent attendee of these soirees was composer George Enescu—Brancusi’s close friend and a fellow Romanian—whose work also drew inspiration from their shared homeland.
