Join us for an in-person exploration of Imagining Black Diasporas: 21st-Century Art and Poetics, which looks at nearly a quarter century of production by 60 Black artists working in Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Together, we’ll learn about the ways people reinvent their heritage through artistic expressions, viewing diaspora less as a displacement from one’s origins and more as a wellspring of imagination. Guests will enjoy talks, hands-on art-making workshops, and dinner. Dinner and parking is included with admission.
Agenda
4:30–5 pm: Arrive, check in, and explore Imagining Black Diasporas in BCAM, Level 2
