Join an exciting, hands-on workshop where science and art come together in the most colorful way! Get ready to mix, mash, and experiment as we create our own natural inks, testing out different ways to paint with our handmade inks on paper and fabric: layering, splattering, and blending to create awesome effects. Dive into the world of sumi ink and use bold brushstrokes to make striking black-and-white artworks inspired by artwork on view at LACMA while exploring how colors mix, change, and transform in this camp taught by Patricia Yossen.
This program will take place outdoors on LACMA's campus Monday–Friday, July 7–11. Thirty-minute parking validations and supplies are provided. Please note parking validations are only valid for the Pritzker Parking Garage on 6th Street.
Masks are strongly recommended indoors for everyone. Learn more about all of the museum's health and safety protocols.
Full refunds will only be granted if the art class is canceled by LACMA. Please notify us immediately if a student is unable to attend so that another student on our waiting list can attend class. A refund equal to half of tuition paid will be granted for cancellations made three weeks before class start date. No refunds for cancellations made less than three weeks prior to class start date.
