Inspired by the exhibition Magdalena Suarez Frimkess: The Finest Disregard, participants in this workshop will create their own written works under the guidance of author Carribean Fragoza. The exhibition is particularly suited for creative reflection given the elements of history, popular culture, and everyday life woven throughout Suarez Frimkess’ work.
Carribean Fragoza is a fiction and nonfiction writer from South El Monte, CA. Her collection of stories Eat the Mouth That Feeds You was published in 2021 by City Lights and was a finalist for a 2022 PEN Award. She is the Prose Editor at Huizache Magazine and 2023 Whiting Literary Award recipient.
No previous writing experience necessary.
