Multivisit programs are designed to extend and enrich students' museum and classroom experiences. Combining discussions and hands-on studio activities, these sessions take place at the museum, or in both the museum and the classroom.

After School at the Museum
Grades 3–12

In this program LACMA collaborates with local schools to introduce students to the museum and its collections. Students come to the museum one afternoon per week for eight weeks, as museum instructors facilitate observing art, lead gallery activities, and guide art workshops. Sessions are designed sequentially to build on acquired concepts and skills. Transportation to and from the museum is provided. This program is limited to LAUSD schools that are in proximity to the museum or have an early-release time one day per week.

Support for After School at the Museum was provided by The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation, Union Bank of California, the Dorothy Collins Brown Charitable Foundation, and Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation.

Living with Art: Art in the Home
Grades 4–5

This outreach program explores what art is, why artists create it, and why people and museums collect it. An artist visits the classroom four times and leads art activities and discussions. Buses are provided for a trip to the museum. Teachers receive resource materials that include overhead transparencies and suggestions for classroom discussions and activities. Bus transportation is also provided for students and their families to attend LACMA's Family Sunday Program. This program is limited to elementary schools in Los Angeles County.

Living with Art is made possible by a grant from the Lucille Ellis Simon Foundation.
