Animals in the Age of Imagination

Get captivated by the magnificent tigers, detailed roosters, and other animals featured on screens and hanging scrolls in the exhibition The Age of Imagination: Japanese Art, 1615-1868, from the Price Collection. In workshops with artists Tetsuji Aono, Beth Krumholz, Sylvia Schorn, and Quan Yen Trang, make your own imaginative animals.

Check out art from Los Angeles! Be inspired by the special exhibition Los Angelenos/Chicano Painters of LA: Selections from the Cheech Marin Collection and make your own art in workshops with Eloy Torrez, whose own paintings are in the exhibition, Joy Anderson, Jesus Mascorro, and Quan Yen Trang.

Face it–Portraits at LACMA

Search LACMA's permanent collection galleries for portraits. Be amazed by how many portraits you'll find of the same person in the Francis Alÿs: Fabiola exhibition! In workshops with artists Hadley Holliday, Marianne Sadowski, Marylene Camacho and Quan Yen Trang make portraits, paint from a live model, and more.

Visitors of all ages are invited to a free day at the museum featuring live performances, artist-led workshops and demonstrations, and self-guided activities.
Labor of Love

Explore art as a labor of love! All ages are invited to participate in gallery talks, performances by Patricia Bulitt and Asha's Baba, and art workshops from 12:30 to 4 pm.
