Weekend Classes
Impressionism: Art in the Garden
Work outdoors—as many of the impressionist artists did—to find scenes of light and color. Learn to use color pencils, to paint with oil pastels and watercolors, and to express yourself through the freedom of impressionism. With artist George Evans.

Weeklong Workshops
Large-Scale Mixed Media Drawing
Students: get ready to work large! Create really big mixed-media drawings by combining on-site sketches with other art media. Investigate the dynamic contemporary works housed in the new BCAM building and LACMA’s permanent collection to be inspired by centuries of visual movements, techniques, and ideas.

Water-Soluble Oil Painting
Water soluble oils clean with soap and water and handle like traditional oil paints. This class is designed to introduce basic oil-painting techniques and color theory without the use of solvent or harmful chemicals.
