An Oscar-nominated theme song and score (composed by Marvin Hamlisch, in the only case that a composer came from outside the Bond “family”; it was his only Bond musical work) are not the only departures in this film, the tenth in the series, in which James Bond (Roger Moore) battles an undersea foe determined to take over the world. Spy introduces the mammoth Richard Kiel as Jaws, the henchman with stainless steel dentition. Kiel’s villainy and screen presence were greeted with such popularity that he returned for the subsequent Moonraker.
