Honored as a cultural ambassador to the world, trombonist Phil Ranelin is best known as a former Freddie Hubbard sideman and as co-founder of Detroit’s famed TRIBE Records. Ranelin’s performance credits include: Ella Fitzgerald, Art Pepper, Teddy Edwards, Wendell Harrison, Harold McKinney, Sarah Vaughan, Larry Gales, Tootie Heath,and the all-star Luckman Jazz Orchestra at the Disney Concert Hall.
