The artistic exchange between artists in California and Germany in the 1970s greatly influenced the ways that the dissemination of the work of Californian artists throughout Germany. In a one-day symposium presented by the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles at LACMA, artists, critics, and art historians examine this vital transatlantic artistic period. Guest speakers include Thomas Crow, Maria Nordman, Lynda Morris, Steven Lavine, Ariane Beyn, Christoph Bartmann, and the organizer of the event, Doris Berger.
