Shifting Forms: Ancient Inspirations in Contemporary Japanese Ceramics
Thursday, June 7, 2012 | 6:30 pm
Robert Yellin, noted authority on the ceramics of Japan, explores how contemporary Japanese ceramic artists are reinterpreting ancient traditions, such as Bizen, Shigaraki, and Mashiko, and bringing new visions to old forms. Using images that he has taken over decades of living in Japan and working with ceramists from all over the country, he will present numerous and varied examples of ceramic works of art.
