Gallery Course: Caravaggio and Baroque Painting

Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio revolutionized painting in seventeenth-century Europe. Bodies and Shadows: Caravaggio and His Legacy gives visitors the unique opportunity to see not only Caravaggio's work (rare in American collections) but also that of his contemporaries, which clearly demonstrates Caravaggio's enormous influence. In this gallery course, educator and art historian Mary Lenihan offers an introductory lecture on Caravaggio followed by a private tour of the exhibition.
