Art of the Middle East CONTEMPORARY

Art of the Middle East CONTEMPORARY

At present, LACMA is the only major American museum that actively collects and exhibits contemporary art of the Middle East.  Although we have only been so engaged for about five years, we have already created the foundation for a first-rate collection, which will continue to grow in size and scope with your support and enthusiasm.  Funds raised through Art of the Middle East CONTEMPORARY will directly support contemporary art of the Middle East acquisitions for the museum’s permanent collection.

Members of the Art of the Middle East CONTEMPORARY will receive special benefits including invitations to stimulating lectures and panel discussions, curator-led tours of special exhibitions, and council travel opportunities. Programs offered for members will incorporate the full range of the department’s collecting areas, art of the Middle East from ancient times through the present day. In addition, all members will receive a complimentary LACMA Active-level membership.
